CHRISTOPHER Taylor, of Colne, is hoping someone may recognise his father, right.

Born Christopher Henry Bond in May 1947 to Mary Josephine Bond, he was placed with the Rose Hill Orphanage in September 1947.

In 1952/53, he was adopted by the Taylor family. Christopher's mother - born in Dungivan, Northern Ireland, in 1925 - was training to be a nurse at the Jewish hospital in Broughton Street, Cheetham Hill, Manchester. His father was a Jewish soldier serving in then-Palestine. All he knows is that his name was Michael and he was of Polish and Russian descent.

Christopher did not meet his birth mother until 1994.

Strong urge

Richard Rubin, of London, is trying to trace relatives from the Battlefield area of Glasgow.

He was born Richard Linse Cohen on November 6, 1944 in the Brampton Royal Infirmary to Muriel Cohen. The family lived at 68 Dundrennon Road, Glasgow.

Richard was adopted through the Glasgow Jewish Organisation.

"As a mark of respect to my now departed adoptive parents I vowed not to search, but now I've a strong urge to find my roots," he said. He also believes he has a birth sister.

Leeds accident

Lawrence Newman, of California, is trying to find any information on his grandfather Joseph Newman, who died in an accident before 1916 in Leeds.

Joseph had two sons, Samuel and David, with Minnie Newman, all of whom emigrated to New York in 1916. Lawrence's father Samuel died in 1955 when Lawrence was eight. He believes Joseph was originally from Russia.

Sharon Cohen is seeking the family of Nat and Fannie Cohen, who lived at 1556 50th St, Brooklyn, New York when Nat signed his mother's death records in 1949. Nat had a brother Sam who was Sharon's father-in-law's brother.

Nat, a greengrocer, and Fannie had a daughter Audrey and a son Michael.

Ralf's mystery past

RALF Zamovsky, who died recently, was a member of the United Synagogue, Manchester.

While cleaning out his house, shul members spotted old pictures that could point to clues about his past and possibly some relations.

It is believed that Mr Zamovsky is the toddler on the left of the picture sat on his mother's knee.
