Haters went crackers as Jacobs took to internet

YECHIEL Jacobs may only be 24, but the comedian and content creator has already built a life that spans continents, careers — and callings.

Born in Israel, raised in New York and now based in Hollywood, Florida, he has emerged over the past two years as one of the most recognisable Orthodox Jewish voices on social media, using sharp humour, spot-on impersonations and bite-sized videos to challenge misinformation about Jews and Israel.

“I always joke that I’m basically a walking United Nations,” Yechiel told me. “I was born in Israel, my mum’s Australian, my dad’s British, I grew up in New York and now I live in Florida. I am a big mix of different countries.”

His father, Sam Jacobs, was raised in Manchester in a secular home. “My dad wasn’t religious at all,” Yechiel said. “Then his parents got divorced and my grandmother wanted more meaning in life.
