But she became animated (pun intended) when I told her he was the voice of Ben Elf in Ben & Holly’s Little Kingdom — something we watched religiously together when she was a toddler.

But while his time as an elf was discussed, the main reason for my chat to Preston was about his starring role in Ghost Stories, which runs at London’s Peacock Theatre from Tuesday until November 8.
