It’s all added up to a love of maths for ‘strange’ Haim

POLYMATH Haim Shapira is a natural performer.

He is probably my first interviewee, since the advent of Covid and Zoom, whom I really would not have been able to appreciate without this new method of long-distance interviewing.

His constant gesticulations and infectious smile would certainly not have communicated themselves through his heavily accented English via audio alone.

In my mind, he would have made the ideal TV personality, able to popularise ancient philosophies, including Torah sources with his academic specialities of maths, statistics and game theory with modern pop culture. Indeed, the Rishon LeZion university lecturer has turned down many opportunities to appear on Israeli TV.
