Hapless journalist Tim returns with more scoops for Jewish Enquirer

TIM Downie could be described as the ultimate character actor.

From Danny Bear in Toast of London and Toast of Tinsletown, and Governor Tyron in Outlander, and from Yates in The Royal Bodyguard to Tim Curtain in Father Figure, his career has been nothing if not eclectic.

But three years ago, he took on the lead in Mancunian Gary Sinyor’s comedy The Jewish Enquirer.

And on Monday it is back — although now called Hapless — for a second series on Prime Video.

It follows Paul Green, a journalist for The Jewish Enquirer — Britain’s fourth-best Jewish newspaper.

The Jewish Telegraph is first, obviously.
