At the time, he said he liked two things: going out with girls and taking photographs.

“Eventually, I thought I’m not going to earn money from going out with girls, so by default I’m going to see if I can make photography a career,” he told me.

And that is exactly what the now 80-year-old Elliott did, becoming one of the most famous and influential photographers in the 1960s, culminating with him being named as the official photographer for the 1969 Woodstock Festival, arguably the most famous festival of all time.
